 Tammy Grubbs
Rauch Tammy Grubbs Rauch began teaching dancers in 1977 and became the owner and director of the Academy of Dance in Montgomery in 1988. Soon thereafter, she added an in house retail dancewear shop, Attitudes Dancewear, and later a second seasonal location at Eastdale Mall. Ms.Rauch was the instructor of the Mini Curriculum Dance Arts Program for Head Elementary School from 1990-97 and the choreographer for seven musicals during this time. She also served as the Jazz/Tap Dance Department instructor for Selma Middle School in 1998.

Her dancers have received many awards for their overall performance in dance competitions regionally and nationally. Their additional performance credits include work with Paramount Parks Productions, The Puzzel Place Kids, Six Flags Over Georgia, Walt Disney World, Orlando, and Carnival Cruise Line "Dancin on Deck". Her focus is to also maintain her student's active roll in community performance.
Tammy began early dance training at the Walden School of Dance in the disciplines of Ballet, Jazz , Tap and Gymnastics classes. She later attended classes at the Civic Ballet, and trained and instructed for the Ballroom Dance Association. She also studied many levels of Tap under Mr. Al Gilbert, the pied piper of dance of Los Angeles California. Mr. Gilbert conducted master classes at the Academy of Dance for her students. Ms. Rauch studied Modern Dance and Classical Ballet at Huntingdon College under the direction of Diana and Julian Green in which she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a concentration in choreography. Ms. Rauch is the founder and director of the Capitol City Dance Alliance, Montgomery's first ballet/jazz/tap performance company for children and adults. The Academy of Dance maintains the longest running adult tap and jazz program in the city. |
